I completed my 10-12 Student Teaching Placement at Longwood High School in Middle Island, New York from January of 2010 to March of 2010. Longwood High School is a diverse school district which energetic attitudes towards education and learning. During my placement, I taught two Eleventh Grade Regents Classes, and co-taught lessons in Speech and Debate as well as Multi-Cultural Literature as twelfth grade electives. I taught units which were based on A Raisin in the Sun, Walt Whitman Poetry, New York States Regents Review, The Great Debaters, and A House on Mango Street. My experiences and lessons learned during this student teaching placement are invaluable to my future teaching career.
