Five Day Film Unit: Has American Culture and Society placed a
stigma over Young Adults about the type of person they should be based on their
genders? Over the course of the following days, students will be looking at
Gender Roles in the film, Tootsie. Students will analyze, discuss,
synthesize, and interpret gender roles from the film and further dive into the
media by looking at advertisements, commercials, and documentaries. Using
their own personal experiences and judgments, students will be asked to
complete an interpretative project based on Gender Roles by making a Photo Story to
call for change and awareness in our surrounding society. |
