Unit Plan One: Pamphlet of Choice

This Unit Plan was designed to create an informational pamphlet with five different panels on several novels read during the course of the school year. After the completion of the pamphlets in a cooperative group, students would be asked to complete presentations and critique the novels for the teacher's decision to use the novels in the future.

Unit Plan Two: Memory Boxes

This Unit Plan was designed to create Memory Boxes after the completion of the novel Rules of the Road by Joan Bauer. Students will analyze characters, choose objects which represent the character in the novel, and finally make their own memory boxes which represent themselves as well. In addition, students will observe a memory museum, learn how to organize character traits, complete a presentation, and begin a creative writing assignment.
